Subtle, overlooked everyday interactions with objects carry the potential to transform how we engage with the world. In Bloody Umbra, an umbrella is rendered into an information display and interface to the climate. As acid rain droplets fall from the sky, they react with the umbrella surface - causing it to change into a bloody red color. The rain droplets are the information, as the umbrella communicates the chemical contents of the rain water: “ouch, the sky is hurting.”
